Course details
Awareness of pressure area care and management is critical to avoid pressure sores and ulcers. In this course, we will explore the physiology of the skin in relation to pressure care, and learn best practice pressure area care techniques.
Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Explain what pressure sores or ulcers are, and how they are formed
- List the contributory factors, who is most at risk of developing pressure ulcers, and how to assess that risk
- Describe best practice management of pressure areas
