Please note - To fully complete the Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism learners must complete two parts - the first being this eLearning module, and the second being an in-person or online session hosted by approved trainers. Course details
This course was developed by NHS England. It was co-created and delivered with experts by experience. It covers an understanding of learning disability, understanding autism, communication and reasonable adjustments.
In order to receive a certificate for this elearning, you will need to complete both the pre- and post-elearning surveys. Each survey should take between 5–10 minutes to complete.
To fully complete the training, you need to:
- Complete this eLearning and:
- Complete the 1 hour online interactive session that is co-delivered by experts by experience (if you need Tier 1 training)
OR
- complete the 1-day face-to-face training that is co-delivered by experts by experience (if you need Tier 2 training)
Your employer will inform you which Tier you need and how to access it.
The content and learning objectives are mapped to Tier 1 of the "Core Capabilities Framework for Supporting Autistic People" and the "Core Capabilities Framework for Supporting People with a Learning Disability."
